Sheeesh Barney! Shouldn't you be out rounding up REAL criminals? Hmmmmm? Perhaps you'd like to see a picture of a gnome with duct tape on his mouth and a blindfold on? Even dangling feet upward from the bottom of a rope over a vat of wine. This can be arranged!

And I'll have you know our Gnomes are very well treated and happy to be with us. They'd suffer horribly in the cruel, harsh world. We're doing THEM a favor by taking them in. Your FreeTheGnome anti Gnome owner propaganda fails to mention how many Gnomes turn to a life of destitution and dumpster diving for food after being 'Freed'! As they scavenge for tidbits of food and burgle nearby dwellings . . . rat traps, dogs and cats . . . even the ocassional bird of prey start to 'thin' the herd in the cruel fashion which mother nature has made famous. A flip in the weather and the homeless Gnomes would end up strewn throughout the countryside in mounds of mini-corpses. Eeeeew!

And these "innocent" lil guys have strength in numbers too. See http://www.usefilm.com/image/1138460.html where Gnomes actually captured a dog!! Can you imagine what devastation could be caused by a malevolent horde of mighty munchie masticating miniature minions swarming throughout the coutryside? Could you? Be responsible Barney.

Earth First . . . mini-munching hordes second. Priorities my friend . . . priorities.

Someone has to stand up for the gnomes!

Gnome Slave Owner,

We deplore your treatment of gentle woodland creatures, and your total disregard for the basic principles of liberty.

Your moral bankruptcy is evidenced by your acts of wanton recklessness and the deliberate use of coercive force and terror tactics against gentle and innocent creatures.

It has come to our attention that a Gnome is being held captive in your garden. We do not, as a rule, negotiate with terrorists, however, we request that he be released immediately. Already your actions have prompted copycat offenses, which we have witnessed, including the deplorable use of a Gnome as a hood ornament.

We understand that you probably were not responsible for the innocent Gnome's original capture but rather purchased him from a Gnome slave trafficker like a garden center or craft show. Please understand that we are not holding you responsible for the state of Gnome slavery in America.

We are, however, asking you to put an end to your involvement. Do the responsible thing; free your Gnome today.

We have specially trained caseworkers who will gladly work with you toward the goal of returning your Gnome to the northern woodlands from where he came. Please contact us today at FreeTheGnomes.

Although American law currently permits you to keep a Gnome in slavery, we believe it to be morally reprehensible. We hope that upon honest reflection, you will agree.

Stop Oppressive Gardening. Free the Gnomes.

Thank you

Sincerely,
Barney

What a crazy thing!! At first it looked like the device I use to burn away weed in the garden, as had you been burning the hand of an enemy! One wanting to steal your animals, family or maybe a chocolatebar coming out of the pocket
I love real skeletons/bones and collect them when I can. As a child I collected many bones and skulls in the forest, but one day my mother had thrown them all out! What a trauma!
Anyway a very funny one, Doyle!:-)
Take care
Annemette

Now this is inspired, in terms of the image, the discovery of how to introduce alternative fonts and the embedded link!

Wonder if it works in comments!
