I adore Serbia, in fact I've been there 4 times and every trip is full of new discoveries. The people are amazing, the food is outstanding and the diversity of landscapes breathtaking.

Dear R... Yes, I know it's a bit overexposed, I tried to capture it in some way, there wasn't much steam and the daylight was fading away... Also, I didn't want to disturb the man reading and it was a nice addition to the scene. Trade-offs...

I took this picture in October 2006, and Romantika is very easy to find, just chase the trails of smoke, or point your browser to: http://www.zeleznicesrbije.com/active/en/home/glavna_navigacija/prezentacije/turisticki_voz_romantika.html
I strongly recommend to go all the way to Palić from Belgrade (or the other way around if you arrive via Hungary).

Thank you very much dear Nessa, the train was really a fantastic machine, I tried to capture more shots of the steam coming out but the conditions were not good as the sun was setting.

Great shot and nice atmosphere. I want to ride this train! Please let me know if this is a recent shot. Is this locomotive still operational? I will be spending some time in Belgrade in early 2007 and would love to find this amazing machine.
