About Again this was taken from a moving car on a dangerous road outside Kabul. Therefore not as sharp as I would have liked or as well composed. However, I liked the juxtaposition of the extremely positive billboard message with the drab surroundings and the boy looking rather forlornly in the opposite direction.

MMM, I see your point Adele. Take care (literally).

Many thanks for your comments Dennis, and for the revised version which does draw focus to the centre of the picture.

However, to put it in context, this shot was taken on Jalalabad Road, outside Kabul. This is the most dangerous road in the region and is the scene of most of the suicide bombings in Kabul. A lone female walking in this area risks being shot, being kidnapped or being stoned. Getting out of the car wasn't an option. Even slowing the car down wasn't an option as it isn't a place that you linger.

Of the two versions you've posted I prefer this one. The picture has a couple of interesting elements Adele. The English mobile telephony ad looks bizzare in such a setting - "it's time to move ahead" - the man in the ad "moves" ahead but the Afghan boy looks back - you're right, this juxtaposition makes the picture. You've also got the shacks and the Arabic writing in there - you've got things but the picture does not "arrange" them as it should. You should've gotten out of the car and composed it trying a few different angles. You should also remember that the square format you've chosen requires good compositional skills. I toyed around with it a bit and came up with some suggestions. Don't know if "my version" is any improvement over yours - it just reflects my taste - hope you don't mind.
Regards, D.
