flipping through your portfolio, i'm struck by how often you look for swirls of action and even frame pictures as swirls. this one is especially interesting because of the careful, plodding nature of the activity--the opposite of a swirl, yet you have transformed it into one by framing it as you have. i recently saw a beautiful triptych in which three unrelated photos were combined partly to accent their similar compostions. i wonder whether you might find something in combining this photo with, say, the swirling ocean photo and perhaps others.

Very interesting use of the staircase. Definitely tells a before-after story. The use of light in this photo is very interesting also. I am interested in knowing what you metered off from? What was your thought process?
