aha! that could be it, ian. because the pictures always look fine on my computer before i upload them. i never knew what that sharpening bit was about on the upload page, but now i do, and i think i'll keep it at the lowest setting from now on.

thank you!

Stace this has great feeling. -Would have me looking forwards to coming home if my prtner had done it. Really nice forward looking comp - like something shot with a wider angle.
Nothing wrong with the noise I see. I think Melanie is talking about the beautiful soft make up job (- especially visible round the bridge of your nose in all of the shots) being broken up into squares sort of. I suspect it was the sharpening option that u.f. has now when you upload images. Did you notice it when you uploaded, I think by default it will sharpen a bit, but you can choose of course not to.

Stace, I have it on the large version. It doesn't look like noise, though. It looks pixely, like how an image gets when it's compressed or something... I really don't know.

From the look of it, it is nothing with your image, maybe it is something with my monitor or something that happened during upload.

on the full size version?
i've been battling camera noise in the shadows lately.. my poor casio is coming up on 3 years old this winter and has been through a ton, so that's probably what it is..
if i try to smooth it out, it over-smooths everything else.

hopefully "santa" will bring me a new one haha ;D

I like it! Very light and sweet. Nice green color.

For some reason these look a little pixely on my monitor. Do you see it? Could just be me.... I dunno!
