Very nicely done Don. I definitely prefer the vertical crop to the horizontal.

I like the perspective and deep colors on this one, Don. Glad you are headed for the Nebr. Afraid the cool weather has faded tho. See you soon. Larry.

I am all behind Don so I hope I'm not too late to wish you Bon Voyage. I do so hope that you return to us soon my friend.
This is another of your powerful desert compositions with the intensely rich colours and awesome details. I love the textures in the foreground shrub and the signs of it's battle to survive the climate. Well done to you Don. Take care, 'see' you soon. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray

Hi Dave, I should have titled it another View or different perspective. The sun was just at the right angle to make that sky just turn black in the viewfinder. I shoot most all landscapes with a polarizer on. Never take it off when out in places like this. Will talk again whenever we get settled back home. Thanks. Don.

Well Don, your blue sky still amazes me. The power of a Polarizer. Gonna have to get me some.
Here are two thoughts on this. I like the picture overall. But with your title of "The Rock 3", it makes the viewer assume the rock is the focal point of the scene. Therfore, the tree really takes all the prominence away from the rock, acting as a severe distraction.
Now, if the title were "The Tree", then the focus of the viewer is to the treee, which is the prominent point in the picture, with the rock acting as a beautiful back drop.
So the moral of the story is, the picture is fine, the title seems to be the problem.
Have a good trip, don't take any pictures I would take.
Best wishes, Dave
