Eb - Great rustic capture. Fine colors and details. I can almost "smell" the dust. Going to Colorado next week---can't hardly wait.

Dave, good point on the apparent tilt. I lined up the the left verticals which also lined up the horizontal at the lower third. The rest is as it falls. This complex wide angle perspective becomes very apparent in this image because of the lines in the boards and beams. I can't remove the tilt on the rignt without introducing other distortions and loosing image area. The garage is straight, however, so the distortion is entirely in the capture. Eb

Very interesting shot, Eb! Great colours and detail, but more importantly it brings back every corner gas station I've been to, and certainly not as far back as the '20's! I like the colour version here as it really shows up the details, such as the oil or grease running down the red drum. My only nitpick, is it seems to be tilted slightly to the right, but then again a lot of those old garages weren't exactly straight either! Dave.

i think Color version looks alot much better because sometimes B&W dosen't work in these kinda shot! color version is far good because of detials and colors which makes it clear for us to see every inch of it :)
all the best

Thanks Susie! It is what I thought, too - B&W to keep it within the era. I couldn't let those colours go 'though. Eb

I think I prefer the b/w image Eb. I'm not sure why, because there is a lot of cool color going on in the original. But the b/w kind of fits the era better I think. Susie

If you liked the image, perhaps you may prefer the black and white version?
