Matt, it is too! Didn't check the last page when I was looking to see what shots I had posted. Gets confusing.
I use the Canon FS4000US Slide/neg scanner, very happy with it, particulary for high DPI (read 4000) shots.
I also love the 70-200 f2.8 but when you already have 14kg of camera equipment to lug around and you are still trying to travel in not so conventional ways, you have to draw the line somewhere. When Canon brings out a 28-400 f2.8 with crystal clarity at all lengths I will be first in line. Mind you, will probably have to sell car/wife to pay for it...
Not a full time professional but can claim to make a decent income from photographs. Already have a fantastic assistant, my wife Dana, her shots are also posted here.
Good luck, Darrin www.djphotography.net

Darrin. Thanks for the response. The photo is on page 5 of your portfolio posted 27/09/02 however you appeared to use a different aperture that time... LOL. (ahh internet jargen - pls excuse me). I'll be setting myself £4k aside then for your suggested lens range, gotta agree with you on the white bad boys though they do look the business! Have you used the 70-200 f2.8L as this is another consideration? Ohh one last question - what format are you using to upload images - I'm looking to get a neg/slide scanner but am unsure about the quality I'll get from those such as the Minolta Dual Scan 3. Have you used FujiFilm for CD's as I find these crap and need a new method for tranposing from slide to digital format. Any advice welcome. PS - Is your profession a travel photographer then? Need an assistant??

Matt. Not on this site, at least I couldn't find it this afternoon.
To answer your question, I have nothing but praise for this lens. The convenience for travel has been great. The IS really gives you a couple of stops and produced great results when my gut was telling me it wouldn't work. It was challenged and came out tops. Great optics from Canon and hey, it's WHITE!!! All cool lenses are white.
The 16-35 is one of my favourite. There is so much you can do with it, create some wonderful shots out of nothing. Great for people even, I have a lot of fun with it.
When I travel I travel with 2XEOS1V-HS, the 100-400, 16-35f2.8, 28-70f2.8, 2X converter and a 50mmf1.4. I could not part with any of those, they all have such a distinct purpose and can match just about any of my moods.

Nothing to say. The composition is perfect, the buffalos in the background are the ideal complement. Colors superb

Darrin.
Is this the 2nd posting of this shot? You have a great portfolio. The childs colourful clothing combo work well in the centre of the shot with the buffalo framing him. So could I ask some advice - I'm thinking about stocking up on some nice lenses and this is one - what are your thoughts on it and how much use are you getting out of it. I also fancy the 16-35 you used on the Effiel Tower so any thoughts on that also appreciated. What is your profession - travel photographer?????

Superb shot Darrin. Great DOF and colour. The boy really stands out, without making the rest of the shot any less interesting.
