Sharp picture - neat composition - neat, tight cropping!!!
The solid red & yellows add bold colors to the picture...Maybe you could try a different background? am not sure what color though!!

I can understand why a lot of people rate and don't comment : they like photography and they don't speak English. Yes, it exists. An I'm not good at it.
What I don't understand here is the reason for the bad rating. Ask a specialist in portrait (I'm not) to see your photo and give you some advices. I've rated 8, and I like the photo, acute gaze, including knee. Keep working.

Thanks a lot Kevin, I m with you. I dont rate any pictures and I am here to learn from other photographers like you. Thanks again for your kind words and suggestion. I have taken more pictures during this session. As I am trying with the Window lighitng and studio (well, sort of) settings for my school project.
Hope to get more inputs.

It really burns me when people just rate and never leave a comment. I saw the photo received lower ratings, so I felt compelled to add my rating AND COMMENT.
I don't know why it got such a low rating. My only comment is the cropping on the image. Possibly the top of her head and at least her right arm in frame would have made those drive by raters vote a little higher.
My whole reason for uploads here is not for ratings, it is to get opinions, and suggestions which will help me jump out of amateur land..
Keep up the good work.
