:)))
nevertheless, I'd prefer always a stuffed turkey to a stuffed bald eagle (did you ever try, btw?:))
as with regards to our austrian eagle: it's a monster (maybe one time genetical engeneering will produce a similar beast): two heads and hammer&sickle in its clutches... imagine!
old (habsburg) austria had many vices, but one rare virtue: no colonies...
nevermind, keep up the good work.

Wonderful portrait of a majestic bird. Our national bird here in Canada is the common loon, beautiful bird. We have a handful of bald eagles in our area, rarely do I see one flying over, but there are ospreys on the lake, a similar though more slender bird.

Pretty bold words Fabio from a country that had a 2 headed eagle as its national symbol. How strange is that? Sounds like a little bird envy going on here. Face it the bald eagle outclasses all others no matter how many heads the others have. Of course if the USA didn't have those rapacious qualities you all in Europe would be goose stepping to offspring of that little corporal with the mustache about now.

the bald eagle always looked rather stupid than bold for me (exactly therefore the idiosyncrasic bird for CIA, NCA, et. alii:))
why did the 'founding fathers' chose it? obviously because of its rapacious qualities: the qualities america is built upon (s. extermination of the indigenous peoples, mass slavery of imported africans, etc.) I'd prefer instead much more the peaceful and very tasty turkey!!

Mike, thank you for posting the information about the bald eagle, it was very informative. Thank you also for posting such a nice photo. The look of determination on that eagle's face speaks volumes. I don't think any other bird has that majestic look. I am so glad that our founding fathers decided on that as our national bird instead of the turkey, can you imagine?! Anyway thanks for posting this beautiful image.

Rather nice looking Eagle Mike. I like the space infront of the beak for it to look into, and the plain dark background sets this off really well.
