Hy Klaas, this picture was taken in the memorial house of Ion Creanga, a famous romanian short story writter for children. He lived during his childhood in Humulesti with his family in the house were this picture was taken. A special part of his writtings called "Memories from the childhood" describes among other things his house and the way they the lived in the 1850's. I hope that I answered your question :)
