About Sometimes life takes a turn that you don't expect and it makes you sit up and take notice. A few weeks ago I was taken to hospital by ambulance with a suspected heart attack. To cut a long story short I had a collapsed lung as well as Enphysema, among other problems. That week we didn't know what my future held. I don't remember much but I am pleased to say that I am still here and am determined to comeback and kick ass. I have had to stop smoking (my only vice) and try and strengthen my heart to increase my life expectancy. I am writing this to warn you all to take notice of your body and be aware that things can happen very suddenly. One day you are fine....the next, you don't know if you are going to see your children grow up.

Please.

You'll be able to buy more photo toys and continue to amaze us like you did with this shot . . . brilliant capture! With the blue sky, it's still a while before the cowboy rides off into the sunset! ;)

hey judi, sad to hear what happened to you but its great that your still here doing fantastic images. noticed cowboys are so in these days..probably because of brokeback mountain movie. fantastic camera 5D, very expensive too. noticed some darkening on the corners..caused by lens?

Hi Judi, just calling by to have a squiz at your shots, this is a pretty mad silhouette, a shot and a half for sure......the figure has a slight American cowboy air about it, the ox bows may do that perhaps.....my old riding instructor said not to worry about keeping your heels down as long as you stayed on when going over the jumps!........don't know what I am on about it for really, I like your picture a lot, powerful stuff. Your story is very moving.......Sir Walter Raleigh has a lot to answer for doesn't he, I loved the romance of pipes, roll your owns, all the weird French cigarettes 'n all but they made my lungs rattle.......had to give em up, replaced em with red wine and then couldn't speak or stand up properly for a long time.....now that's gone too....there can be days when you wonder!!.......look out for yourself Jud, get well and strong again asap......take some more shots! cheers, david.

Judi, I am so sorry to hear about your difficulty. But, I am very pleased that you are feeling a bit better. Take very good care of yourself. You do remind us that we must not take anything or any second for granted. This picture is fabulouis. Hopefully it reflects your life right now. The silhouette is fabulous and full of character (like you). It is dark, though, as the time you are going through. The rider is looking into and appreciating the sky which is bright and beautiful like your future is promising. Wishing you a very quick recovery.

We've missed your postings, and now we know why. That's the trouble with making friends over the internet - when they disappear for a while no one knows why. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The clouds give the effect of the wind being listened for, but it hasn't arrived yet as there is no movement in the grasses. Nice shot.

So sorry to hear about your condition Judi, you take care of yourself. I know about a year ago I had to have a pacemaker but now better than ever. Keep us informed to how you are getting along. The smoking craving will go away in time but just be strong and keep yourself busy in other ways. Best of luck. Don.
Now we don't want you riding of into the sunset like t his beautiful picture. We want you riding into the sun every morning.

I am glad to hear all is well and you are taking the steps to live healthier. Life is funny and it is the simple things like this picture that brings sanity and meaning to lifes nonstop curves. This photo really portrays the things I love in life - the peaceful times, the quiet times, the sunset and the cowboy who loves me! Nothing makes you realize how much times like these shape your life than an experience like you had! Be well and take care of yourself! :)

Very well said Judi. i am happy to know you are doing fine and my wishes are with you. We all think we have our life in control and feel that nothing can go wrong and pursue habits which affects our health, until one day it hits us where it pains the most.

I guess our biggest threat is cigarettes and not terrorism.

Btw, an excellent silhouette.

Thanks for the mortality check, Judi.
I'm happy to hear you're on the mend, and stopping smoking is the best thing you can do for your body and your long-term health. No matter how long you've been smoking, your heat and lungs get busy mending as soon as you quit. Hey, enjoy a shot with your coffee instead of a smoke.

I meant a PHOTO! ;)

Manu...I almost forgot...the image. I took this in RAW...that is all I shoot now...then converted to JPEG, resized and USM. That's it. I took many that morning of this subject...all in silhouette...then I went for a ride myself...these were taken about 5 weeks ago.

Manu...I had to give up immediately and then I was knocked out most of the week with pain killers...so I don't remember much. I was told that I was awake for 3 minutes at a time...lol...must've been a quiet week for the family but I feel sorry for hubby as he had to put up with me when they sent me through to the coast. ButI am off them now...and that is all that matters...I am a good clean girl now...no vices...dammit!!

Judi

I'm sorry to hear you have been used to remind us all to make the most of what we have...I can only begin to understand what you and your family must have gone through during the last few weeks....but I know you have the character and support to get your ass in gear and live it to the full.

I would recommend the giving up of the weed...I managed to stop some 7 months ago (my wonderful kids badgered me to stop)and I am still "giving" up. You don't need reminding....so get it out of your life, now!

Ooops...getting a bit strong there...sorry about that..

I almost forgot.....the picture....how do you get such a crackingly sharp silouette..silhouit...bugger..black shape, in this shot?

All the best

Manu
