About
A U.S. Army Soldier from Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division provides security for a psychological operations Soldier as he tears down an anti-Iraqi army poster in Medina Wasl, a mock town in the training area on Fort Irwin, Calif., April 1, 2006. The Soldiers are at the National Training Center on Fort Irwin to hone and enhance their war-fighting skills for future deployments.
On a different note --- Yes, you are right I'm a Soldier, I know the importance of OPSEC. However I have not given any secrets away or anything close to it..."MILES" training equipment has been around for years and is used by numerous other world-Armies...as well as paintball for example...Also on the night vision equimpent -- no secrets there either. It is all open source info....but I do not discuss and will not discuss with anyone our TPTs, future Ops, capabilities of our equipment or other things of that nature...
What is scary -- is what does go out over the net, for example there are numerous blogs and other open sources, like this website.... http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/interceptor.htm ....this is the site that is well know to insurgents and other groups, and they love to use it...but agian it is open source and there are many like it...
Another example would be the history, discovery and military channels...I could go on for days about open source...but I just want to make sure that you know that I have not giving the "store key" away to anyone...
Everything I post that is military related has been approved for "Public Release" by military channels....and on Kambiz, anyone can see where he stands on polictal views...
I will tell you that I did recieve guidance on how to repond to Kambiz...the general PAO policy is - if you don't tell your story...then somone else might tell it for you, and it may not be an accurate story or portray the right image...
This was my fourth tour in the Middle East - there are a lot of good people there, just like anywhere else in the world, but there are a lot of bad folks out there as well that want to hurt anything they don't agree with...
So my point to this is...Yes, I'm a Soldier...and historically speaking most Soldiers prefer peace over war...but war is what we train for...in order to keep peace and our way of life...
Again "Thank-you" for your feed back on my work, but most of all your concern over possible OPSEC issues...I hope I have put those concerns to rest...
I will never give any info that would hurt my brothers in arms...or myself (and I have been wounded in Combat)...for I know that I will be going back to the Middle East again for at least one more tour if not more.
No disrespect to your servant hood to this Wonderful Country, but what in the F*#K are you doing giving Kambiz any information regarding our military practices, or devices? Are you out of your mind?
I have followed some of your conversations regarding war and religion. You really shouldn't be conversing with someone from Iran, with his depth of passion, as well as his strong political and religious views.
Nothing personal, but you are giving potential hostiles, information they shouldn't have, or know about! Youre a United States Soldier for the Love of Christ and they all have access to this critique and web site They do not believe in Jesus Christ, or Our Bible.
Thank you for your prompt attention regarding this matter.
Getting back to what this site is about:
I find that you have a very natural eye for photography. Youre a natural and we can fix the mechanics. I have studied your portfolio and I think your glass may be lacking, or maybe its your memory card?
Most of the captures are a bit too grainy IMHO. It could be to the above mentioned, or the ISO setting could be too high. More information would prove helpful...
Go to this website.... http://www.lasertag.org/where.html ....this will give you an idea what laser tag is...the system that is used by the army is a more advance, but it gives you an idea...
Chuck still you haven't answered to my question related to those metal conical knobs on their vest straps, and their helmets? Are they some how radiate some frequencies to HQ if a sodier missed from a war scene or there are some red lights which be lighten up at night? Also the guy who is putting up the poster has two flat metalic boxes one on his helmet and another one on his back. Are they GPS or a kind of hi-tech cooling system for comforting the soldier from heat under the stong sun. If these questions are not forbiden to ask, then I would appreciate your answer. Otherwise forget my simple observation as a photographer to your image. God Bless
Very realistic shot, Chuck, I never would have known it's training without your background comments. Again, I like the way you got the two soldiers, in focus, with one "in action". Dave.
