Whoa!,CB...has it been a year already?...was quite the surprise receiving a reply from you in my inbox today 8+ mos. later...but hey,why break tradition,eh?... how am i?....well,i moved...again...owners sold my last place out from under me,and now live a bit further south in a more rural area...weather has been sucky, but lately has improved gifting us with some beautiful sunsets and morning moody fog...finally posted recently for first time since July....not here much as this 3rd yr. for me winds down...still shootin' film...sweet of you to remember the cowgirl! peace,CG

Nice rural rain shot,CB...like the wide format, proportion of sky to land, the position of the silos within the framing, and the olive green cast adds atmosphere ~CG

OK weird.. in 1875 most builders in Oz where whacking verandahs on to keep the bloody stinkin hot sun out of the windaahs... I am about to send a 1Mb file.. the cartoon that Dad drew of the Halifax he flew in in WWII

Spring Valley (this main street) [Dakota Street to be exact] was layed out in 1875. These are turn of the century and early 20th century merchant buildings. No eaves. Just not the style.

Thanks, Jon. It is one of those few chances in a lifetime to get everything coming together at the right time. And it is darn hard to find a good sized hill in Flatland, Illinois.

Jim - absolutely beautiful. The transition from foreground to background pulls the eye inexorably from right to left and in through the structure on the left. The light is nearly perfect and the placement of the horizon line very well done. An excellent panorama. I don't know if you print and frame your work, but if you do, this is one that should be up on your wall.
Cheers,
Jon
