This actually isn't a fire... it is a pulp and paper mill, the fire is actually steam being released. The orange color the steam has is due to the HPS flood lights that illuminate the mill at night...and also the steam as it drifts in the wind. I was amazed at the results after i took the shots, and I am also in a hunt for a better, closer vantage point to get more dramatic shots.
Thank you for your great comments on this one. Feedback like this inspires me to spend a little more time hunting for the next version.

I didn't realise how large this fire was until I opened the thumbnail to full size. Was this a controlled burn? I love the arch shape created by the smoke. Very dramatic.The reflection in the water at the front gives the foreground interest.
What I like most about this image is that there is so much for the eye to wander through. Well constructed image.CC
