I like this photo a great deal, Giuliano. I agree that a tighter crop would help, but focusing only on the child would eliminate the mother's leg and skirt and the nature of the town, details that I think are important. Here is how I might frame it: Steve

Giuliano; This is a great shot...you saw a moment in time, and captured it... Very emotional and full of impact. Next time an opportunity like this comes about, try getting in closer...really closer, with an open lens (2.8, 3.5) for minimal DOF. Let the viewer see nothing but your subject, and all its emotion. Nice job!
