Hi John, this is stair that I tilted to make it appear he was climbing the wall.. the frame is not upright but on its side..

impressive portrait, nice original pose and a FANTASTIC place, as a ...cave shape with perspective on the nice wall...
another great element here is the red color of his t-shirt something very importante when the human goes to be 'the main target' of the photographer's subject... that excactly support his silhouette into the frame!
