Of course I'm not... just look at MY work! If it was judged on standard notions of what makes a good photo I'd be up the creek without a paddle!

Thank you for your heartwarm comment, Patrick. I´m glad that you´re not so square in your way of thinking about the "perfect" image.

I love this... how strange that what most appeals to me about it is the blur and lack of sharpness, and then I read your 'about'. 'Technique' is just a matter of being able to achieve the desired effect in a particular image... 'correct' doesn't really come into it, unless you are Mr or Mrs Photographymagazineaddict.

Dear Leonie I can´t tell you how happy I was to read your comment. I´ve been told for some time now that I must have a vision, that my photos are dull without this, that all that matters is technique etc. etc. while I feel that it is the eye for a good motive that is important. Taking some photos when life is there in front of you instead of only worrying about tripods and metering etc. I think that photos with all the technical aspects in order, but no creativity or soul behind them are dull. There must be a heart in it, an enthusiasm or another feeling of some kind. No doubt that it is wonderful when both creativity and techniqe go together, and I try to learn all what I can. Still I say that the eye is most important, and yes, it´s crazy to throw away all precious moments because the light wasn´t right etc. A moment in life can never come back. Thank you so much for your comment! Best wishes Annemette

Annemette... :)
Occasionally I go to the forums here at UF to see the subjects being discussed... I came across one from a gentleman who was bemoaning the fact that he wanted serious critique on his DoF,PoF sharpness etc... Not denying, these are very important... BUT sometimes technicalities get in the way of a *Magic Moment*...
For me it is the subject and how it makes me feel, or, what my interpretation is of the subject matter... :)
I critique on the visual/emotional aspect, what the image evokes in me... because, for me this is a very important part of photography...
When we buy a painting for the wall it has to appeal visually... Not many of us would wonder whether the artist stirred his paints to the left or right or whether he used a mink or synthetic brush, stood on a ladder or hung from the ceiling ~~GRIN~~ other than the obvious that is... lol... So, that is how I critique... :)
Think of all those wondrous *moments* lost forever because the light isn't right... :) or all those *moments* placed in the rubbish bin because *not sharp*... Sometimes it's nice to just shoot with the heart... and that's what you have given us here... :)
A beautiful moment that captures your Anna Sophie's *light*... Eyes that twinkle with delight, a smile that gives of child's playful soul... The movement of hair and hands gives us that unbound energy of one so young... :)
So from me... EXCELLENT Annemette... Full marks plus a hundred...:)
Onie...

This is just timeless. The eyes and expression full of character and individuality as well as beauty. Feels strong and fragile even though that seems contradictory!

There is special light that 3 year olds give off, and your daughter is no exception. A beautiful subject that radiates life and excitement. Who cares about sharpness. A great image and one to share with us. I appreciate your comments on my photos much. Anson

Dear Shirley Thank you for your nice comment and for seeing through that the image isn´t sharp! I´m glad that you can see exactly why I took this photo because I believe that a special atmosphere, mood or the soul of a human or animal is as important as the technique in itself. Best wishes, Annemette
