Really great lighting Alan. You live on Hornby Island? What a wonderful thing it is to be able to live in a photogrtaphers wonderland!

Tim.. I definitely understand... many times people would comment to take a photo a different way on my photos and most times it was a one shot type of deal :) well, the sky may be overcast now but your "backyard" is beautiful.... excellent photos in your portfolio..

Hi Paul, Yes this is a good insight for this composition. If I have a chance in this area in the future I will give it a try. As it was this sun disappeared seconds after this shoot never to come out again for the rest of the day. This winter has been very wet and overcast for months. Such a tan sucking winter...yes I have become soooo Canadian white.....lol

Hi Jeanette, Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot coming from you! Funny thing is that I showed your portfolio to a friend just recently as an example of how you find amazing images just about anywhere. All you have to do is look with a different eye and a bit of foresight. But of course this takes lots of daring and willingness to fail for some time before getting anywhere near your experience and expertise. This became apparent to her very soon as we tried out her borrowed camera near her home in the city. I became just as inspired just watching the process. Thank you again for helping me to see with a different eye!

excellent capture...good lighting, the only thing I would wish is that you shot this at a different angle and not include the shoreline (trees) on the left.. the rocks and the water seem to be the strongest part of this composition... what a great landscape...good one

Stunning Tim! I showed your portfolio for a friend today. We have been out for making some nature shots, all white, even the sky. I said that it´s difficult to make an interesting shot, to compose and get it right. Easily to make something flat and boring! I told her about you and therefore i also showed her your images, she understood what i mean :) Better to tell that story and you get the point!
