Tim:
Agree with Hugo, but I like the details and color range. Not as stark as the polar shots, more organic and green. Lively.
Think the only improvements is to get an even wider lens for a greater recession into space.
Welcome back...

Some amazing colours and textures there, Tim! This image has a lot of depth, and very well exposed, from foreground to the background. Dave.

Hi Tim, If there's something I've learned from you is to use a medium wide angle, compose such a shot in portrait format, and include quite a substantial amount of "foreground". It creates a very strong "driveway" leading the eye upto the primary subject.
Lot of things going on here, and a surprisingly tone in the water (algae, I presume). The blots of algae hint at a swell in the water, but other than that do make it a bit cluttered for me. The suggestion of a swell, however, is brilliant, it really makes me feel sucked in towards the shoreline. There is something out of the ordinary about this shot, which I cannot quite put my finger on. I guess it has something to do with the archetypal expectation of tones in a glacier / iceberg shot, which makes this one quite surprising.
Cheers,
Hugo

At least with global warming we don't have to worry about the next ice age for a bit. Or is that too facetious? As far as I am concerned the glaciers can go on retreating... Nice capture with good colours. Gonna paint this one?
