About From last December right after getting my d70. Looking through some older images because Ray has me feeling a little sentimental :)

Nothing spectacular, but I really liked how the light was hitting her :)

Oooooo La La! She seems to be saying that! Wonderful image Janet, she's adorable and I know she'll APPRECIATE this one when she's 18! I know my daughter did! But it's o.k. to show these pics now, Krsytal will be 34 in January! I'm sure this little one will be very happy that her Mom made these memories! Take care my friend! Darlene

Hi Sweetiepie...Now this is beautiful. I can see that it is my favourite cowgirl because of those gorgeous eyes which I am sure she has inherited from her Mum (Mom). You have captured the most endearing expression on her pretty little face Janet and you're right the lighting is wonderful, bouncing off the wall and creating a backlit situation.

I know how you feel about old photos, you kinda get a little lump in the back of your throat that you have to swallow or cough out of the way. Let's face it, there is nothing wrong with a dash or two of sentimentality and I am proud to be responsible in this instance.

Remember what I said about our sprogs and the pics we take of them......you'll get a lot of mileage from this one when you threaten to show it to her future boyfriends...she could suddenly become very helpful around the house:):):):)

Bye bye for now princess, hugs and kisses and very best wishes......Me

ok, that's my same assumption as well, just wanted to make sure. I just took a 35mm black and white class where I learned how to do "real" dark room developing and tweaking. I've got to say that digital is the cheapest way to go in the long run. I wasted tons of photo paper and chemicals trying to learn how to dodge and burn.

Thanks for your input!

Hi Lynne!

I was always under the impression that images from digital cameras (especially dslr cameras) need some tweaking. I think it is so you have more control over the finished product (like a darkroom so to speak). I believe that the closer you are to a good exposure the less tweaking you should have.

What are your parameters set at? Though I don't really know what is 'correct' :(

Janet,
I was reading your comments about this photo and that was the very thing I whispered out loud as I view the photos...."Wow...great lighting".

It really is! Such a candid moment. I like angle taken and the slight tilt of the camera. B&W conversion is flawless!

Great job,
Damion

Yes, I like the light too Janet, this made me smile, once again, as all your images do..so entertaining and I can see why this would make you sentimental, this tender age doesn't last long enough, they grow up so fast, so get all the pictures while you can, I'm sure she'll love it when she's older, well done dear friend!!

Your tones are so pretty. I don't know if I have my Nikon settings messed up, but I have to do a lot of curve adjustments with images coming from my D70. Is this natural? Just wondering, thanks!
