  Q. Meet Friendly Baja California Whales (Video + Stills)

Asked by David Mundstock    (K=46) on 5/2/2006
My film "The Whale's Tale" presents the friendly gray whales at the San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja California, Mexico. The whales come so close people touch them. This video can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection. It’s less than 15 minutes long.

This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I still sell absolutely nothing.

To get started, copy the address of my video site into your browser:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkeleyexplorer/Video.html

With any modem you can view new still photos of the whales at:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkeleyexplorer/Page25.html

There are 30 of my other amateur travel videos on-line covering all seven continents. Visit Italy, Argentina & Brazil, England, Antarctica, Peru, Hawaii, China, Russia, Mayan Pyramids, American National Parks, Greece, or Turkey; see buffalo, penguins, or polar bears.

The planet is yours, including my Home Page giant galaxy of still pictures at:

Hello David:

The usefilm site is set up to let people post images, have them critiqued, and learn from the process. I note that you haven't yet participated in the usefilm community other than this one post to the nature forum. We hope that you will take the time to post images here, and not simply try to get people to look at your web pages, however good they may be. When you post images, caption them with detailed stories if you like, to let people know how you felt when you photographed the subject, and as much as you wish to elaborate so they will understand the photograph and it's context. And welcome to the usefilm community!

Hi, Steve,

I am essentially posting a free, non-commercial, amateur travel video. In this case it's a nature film about friendly whales, full of action as the whales approach boats and produce a series of remarkable displays.

Stills convey only a limited view of the experience which the video covers.

The streaming video cannot be posted on usefilm.com. It requires a special server that I pay for.

I would be happy if "The Whales Tale" video was critiqed so I could learn from comments, just as if it were a still image on usefilm.

There should not be any problem just because my main focus is video.

Dave
