Arax only offers SHIFT not TILT. Hartblei (which has suffered a dramatic lowering of its reputation since apparently being taken over by Kiev Camera in the US) DOES offer shift and tilt. It's on the same lens, though. I am very happy with mine. It is VERY sharp.

I have the Hasselblad look-alike. You do have to baby it--there are many things that you absolutely MUST remember NOT TO DO. Doing them even once will require repair work. But I have them memorzed now. The camera itself soon inspires affection. The look, feel and work are all acceptable, though not up to the standard of finish of Japan or Germany. The Pentacon-like model is said to be the more reliable, because simpler, and with a 1/1000th speed that is trouble-free. The Blad-type has a 1/1000th shutter speed that is apparently liable to uneven speed across the frame, and therefore can produce a slight "stripe" effect. Argh. (I haven't run into this, but there are warnings on the Internet.)

I bow to your greater knowledge of Gaudi.

I would! Especially with a wide tilt and shift lens mounted!
The real photog life begins with such stuff first.
Sorry, I forgot already again: What ARAX do you have ? The Blad-like with interchangeable back or the Pentacon-like ? Are you contented with look, feel and work ? I have been very close to the Pentacon like model, as I said with a tilt and shift lens. At the time no way.
Concerning Gaudi: Last birthday I got a Gaudi book from my son. He lived long and went through many periods and styles. This kind of dingbats set is very close to his style.

Hmmm. I think Gaudi has more curves, less angles. But a fascinating period of architecture (and very soon over--unustainable, I suppose).

I think you would enjoy an Arax! I like mine...
