Very beautiful and majestic mountains. I love the mist and the purple tint, gives it a dreamy mood! Best regards, Ina

thanks for your comment michael. i am glad you like the picture. i admire your work. this photograph was taken from a relatively modest height of about 2800m. what you see is actually the lower half of the peak, the main summit is almost 5000m higher! you are right, it's the clouds and mist that create that sense of great height.

How were you able to take this shot? The clouds/mist add a sense of height while contributing to that chilled atmosphere you can only get when viewing snowy mountains. Balanced well with the white sky and the dark terrain crossed with the aforementioned mist, great capture!

Thanks Pat. No, I have never worked with colour slides. Availability is a problem. And more importantly, I don't feel confident enough to use it, still coming to grips with film. Your suggestions in that regard would be most welcome.

Thanks Anandaroop, Marvelous scale above the clouds... I would like to visit Nepal sometime. Yes, to frame or not to frame.... It has become a trade mark of sorts for me. DO you work with color slides at all?
