Connie, welcome to usefilm. Hope you learn to love us nuts here. I was immediately drawn to this photo. Kept saying, I have to look at this. Love the lighting. The only thing I might suggest is a reflector to throw a little light back into the LEAVES (you guys!)and show a little more of their form. Wonderful first post!

Welcome to Usefilm, Connie, and a very nice first post. I agree with Kevin's suggestions. An alternative/additional suggestion might be to use a small reflector to throw (only) a little light back on to the violet drawing the focus more onto it rather than the rocks. But, all the same, a very nice pic. Let's see more - keep posting. You'll learn a lot here as I have done.

Hi Connie, This has a good use of back lighting, I also think placing the violet to one side makes the pic. more dynamic. I am concerned though about the outline of the rock? behind and to one side of the flower. I think this draws my eye away from the violet. Might using a card backdrop/similar to leave the flower with no competition help? having said all that, hey it's o.k.
