Tumenggung is the leader of a tradisional village (called Dayak) in Borneo Island. They (about 30 families) lived together in a long house, made from wood. When I visit him, he show how to play a tradisional music instrument like guitar.
The beauty here is in the face, the detail, the veins on the emaciated hands. Music is the world's common denominator, and this is an exquisite example of music in real life. I would rather have seen only one instrument, but two of them make him a rich musician, as well as serious about his musical skill. I love the detail in the matt, but may have cropped... or "fixed" with PS... the big square light area on the left . This is one of the better photos I have seen, and I appreciate the opportunity to view it. The "backlight' on his shoulder is perfection.
