Welcome to USEFILM! This a very simple shot but that's not a bad thing, the main problem here is the background, it's too distracting. It leads the eye away from the center of focus, which is the bud in front. If you shot this at f11 then try at f5.6 or even lower to blur the background out even more. Also try and walk around the object while looking through the viewfinder to see all possible shots here. Make or buy a reflector to add some light, preferably a gold one to warm it.
I think you did well. You have good depth of field and an interesting subject. Keep shooting and use this forum as a place to get more ideas. Good luck!
