Dizzy,
Wonderful choice regarding the DOF and shutter speed. The slow shutter speed makes the smoke mysterious. The lines in the skin are awesome indeed. Note to mention your contrast is 2nd to none.
Well done my friend,
Martin

Hi Dizzy, outstanding details, and wether it's sexy or disgusting, the contrast between the two is well depicted. I'm not too fond of the flares off the ring, though, a bit too much for my tiaste, but thats a personal thing. Very well captured,
Cheers,
Hugo

Great shot.....All and all said I guess that is the great thing about art......Its all in the eye off the beholder......Myself I tend to agree with George on the crop......I have no trouble tellin its a woman and I feel I would lean to a stronger composition.....But as stated...Great shot and a beautiful view as black and white so congrats.........7

Well now, I'm not sure about this but perhaps more of the hand would have been better. The fingers IMHO should not be cropped off. As to being sexy, IMHO no woman looks sexy smoking. I think it looks disgusting. I'm a smoker myself and have been for over 63 years but do not like see women smoke. It is bad for their health and ruins everybodies sex life :-)

George, Thank you for your comments. The ring is necessary to show that the hand belongs to a woman. I was trying to show that there are still people who think that it is sexy to smoke....

I think you may find that cropping off the ring or taking it off before the shoot would make the composition stronger. By doing so, the fingers are no longer just fingers but intertwinging bodies filled with tension.
