Location City -  St. Gallen
State -
Country - Switzerland   Switzerland
About St. Gallen is full of such stairways that can take you from the city to higher places. In summer they look quite uninteresting since they are covered with dust, but in winter the water of the rains in autumn washes all that dust aways, and then the black color of the wood stands in a wonderful contrast to the white of the snow and all the frozen objects around.

Absolutely!

And it shows once again, that photography is very tightly connected to the art of showing just the right part, letting the rest aside!

Thanks again for the idea, Doyle!

Giuseppe, thank you very much for the great detailed comment. Please excuse the late answer. I bought a new scanner and I am in the process of learning about all those wondeful things of scanning well. A real art it is! (And shows me what a newbie I still am!)

So, I guess the rhythm will be restored in a few days, but give me the time to learn to use that scanner, my friend! I hope the scans will get better, then.

Best wishes and thanks again!

Nick . . . I absolutely love the cozy feel of that tighter crop . . . some of the bright distractions are gone and the image seems much more forceful. Don't you agree?

Beautiful, not only for the composition, deep and diagonal for the excellent first level but what enchant my eyes is that mustard coloured little house calling attention in the overwelming white.
Bella!
Ciao Nick.(I have lost the rhythm).

Thank you very much, Doyle!

I think the city clears the snow, but I am not sure about it. Anyway it was absolutely snow free.

At the top there is a good restaurant, as always with a good view ;-) And then just forests and a great way for trekking, jogging and the like.

I see what you mean about tigher cropping, Doyle! What do you think about the included image?

Thanks again and beste regards!

A unique perspective and an interesting view . . . who clears the snow from the stairs? (And what's at the top besides a good view?) This one is interesting. By the way, there's a very bright area in the top right corner - Might consider a slightly tighter crop . . .
