Hi Ania
here is an attempt. Basically I selected the leaf (I use GIMP), and inverted the selection to anything other than the leaf. Then desaturated the color (decrease saturation value). Then reinverted the selection to pick the leaf only, and increased the saturation. An alternative way is described here: http://gimpguru.org/Tutorials/SelectiveColorization/
there are other nice tricks at that page.

Nice. The last one hanging :-) You might also try partial desaturation (except the leaf), and increase the saturation of the leaf itself. That would make the leaf more pronounced. It doesn't always work for the better though.

Thanks Ania, I thought I uploaded this photo almost 4 years ago, and found that I didn't when I was going through my folders.

Nice play with colors and the background shadow. I agree with Rina about cropping too tight on the left side though. Regards.

Great B&W capture of the sky. Looks like a frame from a movie made in the 30's.

Thanks Harry. There was a small area where the tulips hadn't bloomed yet, I just cloned some "red" area over it. The rest of the manipulation was just blending two exposures, cheap way of ND-filtering :)

Thanks Slyavash. You seem to have a very similar shot with roses instead of tulips. Unfortunately, the yellow tulip was right in the middle of the field, so I couldn't get as close to it as you did with the roses.

You're lucky to have this view from your window. But I would crop some of the black portions at the top. Regards.

Thank you very much for your comments and photo-fix. I did some level adjustments and image sharpening, though I tried to sharpen the entire picture. Sharpening just the eyes look much better.
