funny, the part about "wanting to see more detail to go with" because the point of image is to use your imagination and to let your mind fill in the blanks,Randy--------but nice of you to comment and still waiting for that email bye,meg

Hi Meg, sorry to be so long in getting to your posts, I struggle to keep up with comments, thanks for your thoughts on mine.
I like this dreamlike quality, pieces that invite imagination and interpretation, however I would agree with Roland about being a bit too dark. I would like to see a little more detail to have more to go with.

Thanks for tips and comment, but i use film, not a digital and i handhold balanced on post or just close to my body-----the sun was already down and i took this without a flash and just enough of that last light around after sunset-----maybe a longer shutterspeed would have worked better, but i think the colors and reflections came out well

You found a great place to capture glass calm water. ARe you using a tripod for your photos? I am wondering if it is camera shake with a low shutter speed that is giving you the blurr. If you are not using a tripod you will need to use a faster shutter speed in order to avoid blurr. This was my first realization when I switched to digital. Also the software that came with your digital can help pop out the green to separate them from the black areas. Great reflections - keep shooting!

Striking image. The water splashing up on the rock makes it work for me, and that bright blue!

It would be a very pleasing abstact image, but those three pelicans just finish it beautifully.

This is a real shocking/neon type blue! Oh blow me away, Kees just came over here and says he really likes this. He thinks this is a great image! I've been sitting here wondering what to say. Guess I'm not with it! Here, I'll give the keys to Kees:
I like the starkness of the picture, the silhouettes with the white water breaking over the rocks. I like it. -Kees-

Hello Meg, first of all welcome to UF it truly has become THE site for emerging photographers, the amount of talent I see here is tremendous & overwhelming, it encourages & inspires one to improve their skills. Now to your image, I think the mysterious & impressionistic twist is great, however I find it too dark & contrasty, an adjustment of both will still yield your concept, other than that I see great potential for this. Happy shooting Meg & best wishes.
