Thanks, David. I am a loss of what to do with fog (it was a very foggy day in San Francisco, what else is new!). I prefer more contrast (indeed, the printed version of this is more contrasty), but I wanted to keep the mood...so... perhaps as I learn more about Photoshop I'll learn to balance things better.

Thank you, Jan. I have a nephew in the Navy, who was in Afghanistan last year. A good friend of mine is a Viet Nam vet. Words can not convey my feelings about wars, I think nothing is so complicated as war. My heart goes out to the people who fight them. That suffer because of them. That die and or are maimed because of them. Whose spirits are damaged. Unfortunately, I don't think that there will ever be a war to end all wars. The best I can do is search for peace in my own heart.

Yes, I was surprised. At the other Veteran's Cematary in Colma, there was a special section for the wives. I think that this cemetary is much older, so they don't have very much space. In fact, I don't think they are doing new burials here. Perhaps that is why they are sharing headstones. I really don't know. I'll look into it. Thanks for looking, Jan.

On the thumbnail this pic seems flat. Certainly with curves and levels adjustment the contrast jumps out. However in comparison, your original seems to fit the bleak theme a little better....

Christine--A moving photo and it truly hits home, doesn't it? This has special meaning to me, a Vietnam Vet. We obviously do not learn from our mistakes. The grey and dreary San Francisco mist and fog seem so appropriate. Well seen.

Very nice Christine, I Like how you capture him with the nice lighting to get the varies colors that he shows only when the lights is at a certian angle, excellent pose and the surrounding water is flattering. Well Done..
