I like this Russell. However, I can't help but wonder what a shot straight down the aisle from a low angle and shallow depth of field would look. I see you are planning to revisit this winery.... would love to see more images from here. Thanks for your comments on my restoration project, I see they featured your critique, congratulations. Kind Regards, Melissa

Nice night photo, I could say kind of standard one. I miss a bit of sharpness here and maybe, just maybe, bit longer exposure. 5/7

hmmm, not so bad photo but everything is hanging to the left side. There is tooo many centers of attention on the photo, and the quality is not so high, I mean it's too noisy and it has the lack of contrast. But still, it's nice captured moment. 5/7

Thanks Michael, The tracks were running parallel to the tracks we were travelling on, so i knew that the position of the lines on the tracks would not alter in the photo, and that any blur effects from the movement would be translated along the tracks. But the stones would portray the speed of the train. But to reply to you, I don't feel you would have termed this a fast train, you don't really get super fast traisn in NZ, this is more of scenic trip. Russell

Thanks Susan, It has always been on my mind to do a similar long exposure closer to dusk. I have just checked out your photo from the same spot, and I agree there is a huge level of detail obtained by taking the shot earlier in the peace, mainly due to the coloured sky/backdrop showing the buildings limits more clearly compared to the blackness of night. Thanks, When i am back in Perth next I will attempt to get back up to Kings Park. Russell

I like industrials and I like well-exposed night shots. This excels at both.

Beautiful scenes, other then that, it is also a very difficult shot for a picture to have the exposure containing both bright and dark scenes, yet the stars are still visible in the dark area. I say great~

nice long exposure effect Russell, and the man standing still in front makes a nice contrast to the light lines behind him. the effect of the moving lighted rides might be stronger if you went closer and framed them tighter, going for a more abstract composition rather than a straightforward one ;-) keep shooting! kostas
