Hello Jeannette, I like your old and unusual technics. A more creative and unique approach to photography, really a nice example of how the artistic language is apart Bye

Thank you both for your comments and support. Unfortunately (or fortunately) whatever happens when you pour the collodion is what you get. Tiny specks are quite the norm and the imperfections are part of the charm of this wonderful old process. To view more of my ambrotypes please visit www.jpalsaphotography.com. I will post more to Usefilm in the future. Once again thank you.

Jeannette:
Like every image in your portfolio, this is terrific. It is hard to pull this type of image off and you have done so. The tight crop around the face works very well. There are some specks in the image that I don't know if you can correct, especially considering the process involved in the production of the negative. A beautiful image as always. I wish you would post more images, you have great talent. best.

Certainly has the "period feel". The piercings give an ironic feeling. Hats off to you for exploring all those time-consuming old techniques in defiance of efficiency and productivity! Rgds, Svend

This has all the qualities of a Renaisance painting. Great light, excellent subject, traditional pose, and a well done sense of balance between the darks and light. A rare photo. GOod work!

Very painterly. Very busy, not sure all those planes and lines are working together but who says they have to? Fractal impression. Very interesting, explorative, different and thank goodness for that in a sea of sameness.

Always like layered photographic pictures when they're made the old-fashioned way. Guess this is a multiple-exposure during print-making. Graphically I like this a lot -- certain there's much to enjoy in the print, the interplay of grain and greys, distinctness playing with indistinctness. The subject is straight-forward, the interpretation here is the thing.
