there's no doubt that there's a fantastic use of light, and a very carefully worked out eye. the expression, which is limited, it still has just the imperative elements to convey that feeling of 'darkness closing in'. in general i like the soft bordering of the shadow and the form it creates and depicts.
if i may give my critique on this, which is the only one i would point out; is the soft, almost shiny contours of the skin. I think, some roughness, in the sense of having that layer removed, would work even better.

This shot is just great with great perspective, tones and details.
The tree leaves and your daughters face expression add a great atmosphere to the shot. I really like ti a lot.

it was just before the sun set & the little light was coming through the trees behind.
was magical light!
