Great shot! Very nice composition, very clear and I like the seriousness in this young player's eyes. Ain't Little League great!!!???? You must be something like me... The parent with their camera up to their face at every game, driving the players a little nuts

Great shot! Would like to see more of his face, but heck, I wish for a lot of things... I do very much like the ball in the shot and the blur of the hand. Excellent!

Nice shot.. isn't it great to get these? Take 100 shots of strikes, or whatever else and along comes a gem... Wish I could see the player's face a little better, but lighting at the ball park often leaves much to be desired! Keep shooting that little league!~

Yes, I agree, the glove would have "made" the shot. Unfortunately, I zoomed in too close and cut it off. Last year my camera had practically no zoom capability so this year I bought a new one with much stronger zoom, but my tendency has been to zoom in too close and cut off important elements. Working to find that happy middle ground! I am shooting with a digital, too. I kept the area to the right only because I'd wanted to keep home plate in the shot, though don't know how important that really is... Thanks for your comments.

I like the contrast of the grass to the sky... Can almost feel the rain, but thankfully is a beautiful day here so am happy to leave the clouds in this pic! Nice shot.

Christian, I guess I'm not really sure if this camera has a distinct advantage over other digitals in terms of shutter. It was listed as a strength of the camera and was definitely a plus to me as I knew I'd be shooting a lot of baseball with it. It is much, much quicker than the camera I was using before but again, not sure how it compares to others. Thank you for your compliments
Suvomoy, I was sitting behind and to the right of the catcher, with the lens poked through the fence, using a mini-tripod balanced on my knee... ah, the lengths one will go to..

Thanks for the comments... Yes, Douglas, I admit I was at least a bit disheartened when this flower got a "1" and "2" for its first rating... I try not to put emphasis on ratings, but can't help but peek at them . Macros and flowers proved harder than I had thought, but I will live & learn. I like new challenges... So used to baseball, it is quite a switch to work with a still object.
It would be an honor to be included in your collage!
