this is a wonderful shot Michael....love the perfect composition, the use of negative space. the geometry here is really quite beautiful. i wouldn't change a thing. bravo!!

yep...everyone needs to see at least one show here. just an old greyhound bus station converted into a club. so many great memories in this building...so many good bands come through here...small club, perfect sound (and loud), strong drinks...such a fun place to be. kev, if you ever make it to minneapolis i will bring you to First Ave. for a show...

great blur here...i like how the guy in flannel seems to be stopped in time, with life swirling all around him. looks like the unibomber or something... perfect tones here just like always. i'm going to have to start playing with the channel mixer a bit more. i'm usually just using brightness/contrast and messing a bit with saturation.

excllent work Lowell...i like how you transposed Rothko's vision and style into a photograph. not only did you find a way to use another medium, but you've borrowed his abstract style to make a literal work. great work..........
i love rothko by the way...this must've been a cool exhibition.

First Avenue in Minneapolis... most people know it from Prince's Purple Rain movie. it's really a wonderful venue, LOTS of bands have played here in the past 30 years...i'll have to put up some more shots of this place.

certainly an interesting portrait. i admire the esthetic result here as a whole, but i'm not sure what your intent was. if it was to get a very unique and moody image you got it...makes me think Hannah is only a memory. if the intent was to show the beauty of the model, i think the above advice holds true. in my eyes, this shot has such a mysterious air, and the soft light is so beautiful...it's a great success. creative stuff.
