Great capture, Guy.

It seems to me that the boots should be facing the wall though; I'm obviously wrong (what do i know?) but if they were facing the wall, wouldn't the fireman just walk up to them and put them on? Facing away from the wall, the fireman has to turn himself or turn the boots before putting them on? And it's all about the speed, isn't it? :-)

Thank you Jose. The ships were in port for a few days for our Tall Ships Festival. This was taken during the Parade of Sail when the ships were leaving Halifax Harbour, heading for various ports across Nova Scotia.

I like this picture but I mostly wish the tones weren't quite so dark.

Thanks, Garold. Nice work on the midtones - I don't quite have an eye for the tones yet but I'm working on it. Every little bit helps.

It's a good picture but critically I wish her foot weren't cut off and I'd like her to be a little more crisp.

Interesting concept, Guy, with great results. I've never seen anything like it.

Thanks Guy. I've only been twice now, each time seeing it from a different perspective (first time from a sky box, second time third row from the floor). It doesn't seem to matter, wherever you sit you get a great view of the show.

Oh my! This picture's perfect - crop, composition, everything. I'm glad to see you were using your Sigma lens - I don't think I'd want to be too close to the path of this guy!

Love him, looks like you can just reach out and pet him. You must be fairly close to the animals since you're only using the 70 - 300 lens.

Thank you so much for your comment, Al. I looked at your performance shots - they're wonderful. I still need some work on my technique but did manage to get a few shots that were worthwhile.

Love this one! Took a shot of the same statue from a different angle and I wish I had thought of doing something like this.
