OH oh oh! My favorite flower - purple irises! Reminds me of my childhood, but then everything reminds me of my childhood. The colors and details are so pretty/rich, Shirley!

Hello again. Thanks for sharing your parasol with me - those blues are terrific! About the contrast - I'm always afraid I'll overdo it, especially with reds, 'cause it seems like they get noisy or something when I turn up the contrast too much. But, yes, I tend to like contrast and rich colors too.
Ok, I'll get braver about shooting in stores, if you're sure I won't get arrested...

J. William Fulbright: Senator from ARKANSAS! )) This is truly red, white and blue! Gorgeous colors, and I like that you haven't done the "usual" thing with the flag.
Bravo, Gayle!

Oh, there's Marija as a little girl! No, wait, that's Nadia!
I have your birthday pic on the wall of my office, and everyone talks about how beautiful she is, M. You are so lucky. I had those nasty boys.
Just look at those huge eyes! Well-conceived and well-achieved!
Hugs, Gayle

Hi, Gayle. First of all - love your tablecloth! Second, I have the same bottle (foreground) set on my windowsill in my kitchen. Third, can't believe this is film! Fourth, just an excellent compo - a little unexpectedness, depriving us of the entire bottle. Light, shadow, verticals, diagonals, squares, all nice & soft. Fifth, congratulations on your BIP award!!!

What a nice capture, Anunay! I love the idea of this...paper boats after a rainstorm, their reflections in the water...just wonderful!
In the way of constructive criticism, I think it would be even stronger if you cropped tighter, probably off the top, to bring the boats out of the center, and also off the left side to eliminate the bright spots. I'm a cropping maniac. ))
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face with this one. Gayle N.

I used a "Multivision" filter to get the effect, Laphael. It's part of a s/w package called "PhotoImpact Pro." So, I converted a normal photo to sepia, adjusted the tones, and applied the filter. Simple as that!
Thanks! Gayle

Oh! That's good to know, then. Are the entries for projects "graded" only within the month that they are new? I didn't realize that they were that old - 2001! Gosh, I was a young pup back then! hee hee.
Thanks again. Gayle N.

Made me laugh, Gayle! No, there are not too many of us around, although there used to be THREE Gayle/Gales in my last workplace. Very unusual.
I hope you don't mind sharing your name. I could change mine if you've got the copyright. ))

HIIII! I am SO glad you're back! I've felt as though I've been walking in the dark by myself this week, but I wanted to see if I could do it. People have been very nice so far, although sort of few and far between...but that's to be expected. I dropped Paolo a line, 'cause I saw his comments in your photo, and he said he's not posting here anymore.
Anyway - enough of my chit-chat. Well, except that I hope you had a great week at the beach, and I know you've got some wonderful photos to share, as always.
This one is a quiet one. Solitary and minimalistic - were you feeling that way? Nice compo and I love the cloud "ceiling" across the top.
All of a sudden, I feel better. ))) Write me when you can, sweetie.
