i dont see any owls in this snap, it also breaks basic photography rules by having the horizon right in the centre of the frame, sky is ok.

I think this format works just fine. I like to revisit and rephotograph scenes like this as well.

Cool photo! I hope you weren't claustrophobic squeezing into that small space! :-)

I liked this picture Kennard. The colour in the wheel draws the eye to it. Nice touch to desaturate everything else. I would have spent days hand coloring such a picture previously and PS makes it so much easier. Nice work.

 Cheers!

The altered image is an interesting idea, although I find it doesn't hold my attention for very long. I think it's because there are so many lines, without a concrete subject to focus on. One piece of dark tree bark might have created the balance that I want...
Congrats on trying new things with photos though... as I've learned on USEFILM there are many ways to enchance and create after the image is caught on film!

Beautiful scene and nice warm tone
Might be better in standard 35mm format or panorama format with 1/3 composition

Thanks for the comments. This is my first submission here after discovering this site today. I didn't have to do much with this photo in PS. All I did was desaturate, bumpe up the contrast on the trees in the foreground, and add a blue in the duotone.

How cool! My wife and I both looked at this and thought initially it was just tree bark and thought it was great. Then the forest came out of the background and it's amazing.

Great idea and shot. Took awhile to figure out what it was as it downloaded. What a neat surprise.
