i like your white pines; here we call them paper birch, and the yellow leaves look like oak leaves. great bright engaging composition.

Great capture Kennard. Your right about it looking like a composite image... no signs of what the insect is resting on. Lovely colour balance to the whole picture and thye monarch is particularly vivid.
Nice work!

Cheers!

Thank you, Kenneth. I take your comments as high compliment. Your landscapes are simply amazing.

Good composition. You have orchestrated negative space very well here. The road and the fields, together with the blue gradient, is sufficient to complete the picture. I like the depth the road provides and the anchoring the clump of trees on the right gives. Well-seen.

An interesting idea, but I think to make this work you need to get in closer and isolate some water drops. You've got some great sparkle going on, there is just too much going on to take it all in.
Keep posting!

I like the photo and the treatment. I may not have noticed your manipulation without reading the description - to me it just looked good.

Kim, thanks for the constructive comments. I hadn't thought about having a focal point to catch the eye, but that's an interesting idea.

Rules are meant to be broken.

The horizon in this shot is fine. I would like to see the tops of the cattails but other than that, the compostion works.

It breaks basic photography rules? Great!

The reason for the name is that we were searching for a geocache called "Owl Hunt" when I took this shot. I agree that I could have chosen a better name.

Dennis,

Since this image makes you yawn, what "constructive" comment could you leave to make this image more interesting to you?

I would like to see the top of the wheel, not cropped. I find the round shape and the vertical trees an interesting composition.
