Wow this is really nice shot and great colors the only thing that I would recommend is shooting it at a different angle or shot a little closer. The reason being is the green stem in the background is a litte bit of a distraction, but over all this is a good photograph. Your colors are really great, it has a very nice warm glow and feel to it.

I'm not sure what type of plant it is...I would have to ask my girlfriend...she has a really awesome and beautiful garden...I'm just having fun and a blast photographing...Also I'm not sure if San Marcos is the flower captial of the world but I can check on that as well. Great shot...I like this one a lot better over the yellow one that you have with the same title...the reason it is a lot tighter and cleaner shot...The colors really pop out at the veiwer...also the detail, framing, and lighting is perfect....7/7
