I had the scorpion in a CD-R spindle cover turned upsidedown. You are actually seeing the carpet through the plastic spindle cover piece lit with the blacklight.

Maybe a simple act of picking up a serpent and handling it to you, but we pay good money every Sunday for people with your talent in some parts of the South...Down here We call them preachers!!!

Yeah, I just could not resist the temptation. It was so good looking. It had probably just shed its skin and.....well....it was a big naughty snake and it needed to be handled a little. You know what I mean. Right?
Check out my next pic for clarification if you'd like.

Its hard to get details on these, they're so black, so its good to see the splash of colour on the belly. Looks similar to our RedBack, except that as the name suggests, the red is on the back

Thanks Scott. I was also impressed by the DOF but I must confess; these little auto focus cameras are getting better and better!!!

Oh and by the way, to all of the rest of you guys who have not yet seen Scott's work, it is very high quality. Treat yourself and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Paul, Maybe the name of this pic was misleading. Despite the fact that I called this "A Girl And Her Camera" the sky is what I found to be the focal point of this pic. I actually played with this pic a lot and I did lighten the foreground so that you could see the girl more but to my taste it took away the contrast between the sky and the foreground that makes the sky such a focal point of this pic. Maybe there is a happy medium in between what I did and a lighter foreground. Either way, thanks for your comments. They are always appreciated!!!!!

Great vantage point, Erik, but I think it would help the composition if you lightened the foreground a bit.
