About: I grew up assisting my parents - professional commercial photographers with their own small shop since the 1940s - and spent my early years using Graphic 4x5, Mamiya TLR rollfilm, and Nikkormat and Nikon 35mm cameras, and developing and printing LOTS of b/w.
I'm now a technical writer by trade, writing software documentation, but I still do a fair amount of photography, much of it b/w in my parents' basement state-of-the-art-1960 darkroom.
I have a definite affinity for vintage manual cameras, especially small ones - Minox subminis, Olympus Pen half-frames and OM SLRs. (I much prefer old clunkers to the latest digicams and auto-everythings! I have nothing against technological progress, but I think there's still plenty of value in *classic* technologies.)
