This is a photo I took on 29th June 2003 at Thrybergh Country Park, Rotherham, England. I *think* they are Emperor Dragonflies - the male is blue, and the female is green.
Thank you for the comments, it's much appreciated.
To: Elangovan S - I didn't disturb them this time! ) It's funny though, because I found that these two dragonflies stayed a lot more still than dragonflies that are on their own. I was able to get closer and for longer than I normally can with this type of creature - maybe it's because they had their mind elsewhere? ;-)
To: Keith - Yes, I like the new camera! ;-) I like the extra features that it has over my old Fuji, plus I can fit so many aftermarket attachments (e.g. lenses, filters, etc). For the price (£550 on the day it was released in the UK), I think it's a great camera. But if I had £1250 going spare, and didn't mind the physically larger size of the SLR (which I don't!), and had the money to buy some lenses (it ships as body only), I'd probably buy the Canon EOS-10D camera as that looks great and gets great reviews everywhere! I also hear people say good things about the Nikon CoolPix 5700 (about £700). Let me know what you get!
Stunning, absolutely stunning !! - I assume you like the new camera ;-) I managed to drop mine today, looks like the ccd chip is no longer recording any images. I might have to have a good look at the G5 as a replacement, or do I look for a D30/D60 secondhand, I can't decide.
Back to this image .... I just don't have an way of critisizing it, its beautiful. Congratulations. Keith
