I got some nice shots of his mate just before this one. I posted the male of the species due to the more outstanding colours. They were actually eating the blossoms.

I originally bought the lens for shooting Auto Racing and Tennis. It performs beautifully for the distances needed for those sports. I added the 1.4TC for small wildlife. But, just like sailboats, there is always a bigger longer lens that we covet. :)

I am impressed by "300mm Nikkor f4 with 1.4tc, hand held" and the D200 is prof gear and with your skills the image is so impressive in comp and corors ( typical D200 D300 ).
