Thank you dear Michele, Maybe I am going to have to find some more subjects for night IR for your then. There is a place not far from home that looked stunning, but the focus was not good, will have to try that one again. Since converting my camera I can't easily manually focus

Thanks my friend, she is only about 1 meter from the ground here, I was standing a little way off and zoomed right in, which made the effect that they were quite high.

Hey dear Keith, thank you so much. I really loved the volcanic rocks and how they came out in IR, yes I think you are right quite often you can see more details, or the contrast of the shades is more clear. It looks dangerous but she is not that high off the ground maybe 1 meter.

Congratulations Dan on the award, well deserved.
Aside from the IR effect what really attracts me is the position of the girl on this rock, it looks dangerous where her feet are planted. It seems that just to get the right perspective, they do submit themselves in danger..
great capture!
regards..

This shot has to be the best one yet. Its brilliant. In some ways the IR is like desaturated colour but with more detail. Love the composition of this one as well. Girl looks to be in a dangerous place there. Cheers Keith:)

Thank you so much Riny.

Yes they were done with a digital camera. A Canon G6, which can be used straight away with IR.

The best way to check to see if your camera is sensitive to IR light is to turn your camera grab a remote control push the button and point the remote to the lense of the camera, if you can see light emmitted by the remote then your camera can be used for IR photography, the brighter the light from the remote the better IR results you will have.

Then all you need is a IR filter 720nm (Hoya RM72 or R72) or (Kodak Wratten 88a or 89b) or clone of these.

Because digital camera all have IR cut filters to block the transmission or IR light you will need long exposures to capture the image.

My camera I have removed the IR block filter so it now lets in all IR light, and now I can take shots in IR at normal shutter speeds
