About This photo is dedicated to all those who actually think their cell phone is a camera.

This photo is dedicated to all those who use their flash to shoot a night landscape of a mountain range... or cityscape... or the stars.

This photo is dedicated to all those who don't know how to turn off their date stamp on their cameras.

This photo is dedicated to all those who don't read the sign "illegal to approach wildlife" at the National Park entrance.

This photo is dedicated to all those who buy cameras made by Crayola.

This photo is dedicated to those who can't.

(this photo was taken in RMNP from about 500 feet away while a herd of Elk grazed on a rocky slope. This kid is one of about twenty who piled out of an SUV that seats 6 and all of them climbed the slope to take pictures with their cell phones. This kid was about to get gored, as you can see, the Elk in beginning to get mad. While every other tourist stayed below on the road, these kids decided they were at a petting zoo.)

Dave, I think the most telling aspect of this photo is how the 'photographer' is hunched over as he approaches the elk. It looks like he thinks he is sneaking up on it!

We need more fine smart people like you Dave! And if I gave you the idea to post this image and the brilliant "dedication to...", hehehe... great!

Hugs!
Ani :) x

Yes it does... and I only meant that your image is so powerful that the "story" seems clear... at least to me! lol I don't know about the rest of the world.... they probably wouldn't listen to the story if you recited it with a bull horn! lol

LOL... Michael. Know what you mean. Everybody down on the road where I was was rooting for the Elk to charge this guy.. they all wanted pictures of him being flung off the ridge.

Thanks, Sheryl. Judging by his clothes, I have no doubt. That or California. Well, there's actually no difference anymore.

Amen! Just returned from Yellowstone National Park where I observed similar lunacy with cell phone "cameras" and buffalo . . . I found myself photographing the Darwin Award candidates photographing the bison almost as much as I was photographing the bison.

agree with you even I don't understand this as funny picture...It's more like some warning to not disturb nature...and I agree with that:)))

So right, Dave... I always shake my head when I see people who don't give nature or wildlife the respect it deserves. Some humans are the worst animals on earth! Great photo too...really tells a story, even if you had left no comment at all... but I like your dedication.

HEY!! I recognize that terrorist!
He was here last night with his cell phone thinking he could photograph the moon. He and so many clones of him were here, loud and boozing on and flashing car headlights, torches and actual "camera" flashes to get a better picture.... LOL!
Why, oh why are terrorists (which some refer to as tourists), so weird???

Brilliant tribute Dave!

You put a smile on my face.

Love and Hugs~
Ani :)
