Sunday morning in a local bar after shooting landscapes in freezing fog.Whilst recovering from the cold I managed to grab a few shots of this old guy playing solitaire until he became aware of me and stopped to read the paper.!
Glad you liked this portrait which was rather tricky to take considering the slow speed needed and the strong window light.I put it into the grainy film project because that was the effect that I felt suited the subject plus a little blur. Thanks for commenting. Regards,Tony.
Well held at 1/15th sec to produce such an acceptable image. I can sometimes manage this with a rangefinder camera put never an SLR. You submitted it to the "grainy film for effect" project but I thought G6 was a digital camera, and "CF" isn't anything I recognise as a film designation. Perhaps the grain is digitally simulated? I sometimes get a similar effect when I try to sharpen a vey soft image, so maybe that's what happened here... You can see I am intrigued! I like the portrait very much; an opportunity well taken. He may have turned to the paper because he didn't want a permanent record of cheating, even if it was only himself he was cheating...
