I appreciate someone who is not afraid of breaking the "rules" of framing photographs to give us what is essentially a vertical panorama. It is perfect for this intriguing image. But to see what you saw in the image implies an unusually strong imagination...

The crop is great, usually such tall crops don't work well, but this is perfect.

By the way, if find the figure rather ominous. Perhaps it is because the locale is identified, but I think the image carries the rather frightening feeling on its own.
